Owen Dawson
Owen Dawson is a P.G.A. teaching professional with over 16 years of teaching experience and is currently the Director of Golf Instruction at the Country Club of Maryland in Towson, Maryland. Owen has had the privilege of learning the different teaching styles of some of the top teachers in the country. Studying the swings of tour players has also played an important role in Owen's teaching methodology. With an extensive database of many of the top players both past and present, it's easier to see how tour players of all shapes and sizes can find a way to create a repeatable swing. By studying the swings of different tour players Owen can give each student a better diagnosis of what swing changes should be made using various drills. Modeling a student's swing against a tour player with similar physical characteristics allows for a better approach to building a more efficient swing. Everyone is different and each individual brings with them a different body type and ability level. Whether tall, short, flexible, inflexible, bad back, etc. - these different conditions require very different approaches to golf instruction. Owen tries to build swings based on one's range of motion and athletic ability and does not try to build text book swings as they do not exist. Regardless of your current playing ability, making any swing change can be a difficult thing to do. The quicker you start implementing your practice drills, the quicker your game will improve. Learning to swing the club correctly is more of a journey, not a quick fix.

Owen is available for private, adult and junior golf clinics at the Country Club of Maryland. Visit Owen's website for more information:
